I only have one passion in this world, and that's to travel to as many foreign countries as possible in order to soak up the sights and experiences that I simply can't get here at home. Fortunately, I am self-employed and make enough money to indulge my wanderlust whenever the urge strikes me. Because I spend so much time in other countries, I recently purchased an electronic language translator to help make communication during my travels a bit easier.

Electronic language translators are basically portable dictionaries that can change English words or phrases into any one of a number of different languages. As you might imagine, electronic language translators are much more convenient than traditional dictionaries both because of their size and their ease of use. Instead of purchasing and lugging around several different dictionaries for a journey across Europe, for example, all I have to do is use a single electronic language translator to help me communicate in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and more. And instead of standing there trying frantically to locate words in a paper dictionary, all I have to do is type in my entry on the QWERTY keyboard and the relevant translation appears in a fraction of a second.

When I first started shopping for electronic language translators, I wasn't at all prepared for what I found. There were so many different electronic language translators available that I really had no idea which one would be best for my particular travel needs. Some of the products I saw were very basic and didn't do anything other than render translations, while some of the products were quite complex and contained far more features than I would ever have to use. Then there were electronic language translators that even gave sample responses that I might hear in reply to a particular phrase. It soon became obvious that I would have to do a lot more research before making a final decision as to which electronic language translator to buy.

Once I figured out exactly what I wanted from my electronic language translator, I was finally ready to buy one. I had seen these devices in a few travel shops at the mall, but they were very expensive. I was pretty sure that I could get a better deal online, so I ran a couple of quick searches to see what I could come up with. As I had hoped, I found numerous websites offering electronic language translators for much less than what I would have paid in a store. I ordered the one I had pre-selected, and have been using it ever since.

My new electronic language translator has definitely made it easier to communicate with other people when I travel. This is one of the handiest devices I've ever bought, and I'm sure I'll get my money's worth several times over during the life of the product!
