CD Storage

CDs aren’t just for music anymore. Many people use them to save their computer information and to store digital photographs. If you love listening to music, and you take a lot of pictures, you probably have a lot of CDs lying around your house. In order to keep them safe and where you can find them, you need to find CD storage to meet your needs and keep things in order. CD storage can be done in a lot of different ways, and you don’t need to go with a CD storage tower if you don’t want to.

If you want to go with traditional CD storage towers, you can find them almost anywhere. They usually have slots just large enough to slide in a single CD. These types of storage often come with a desk or can come on an entertainment center for your living room, but for the most part, people don’t end up using them like they thought they would. If this is the type of CD storage you want, you can find it almost anywhere you can buy CDs or furniture and accessories. Probably the biggest problem people have with this type of unit is that it is hard to keep clean and almost impossible to keep looking like new.

If you want something a little different for CD storage, you can do what I did. I bought a two drawer wooden filing cabinet just for this purpose. They fit nicely on their end in the drawer, and I can just slide the drawer open when I need something. You can fit a lot of these in one drawer, and if you go this route, you will always know where your CDs are, and as a bonus, they are somewhat protected from dust build up and spills.

You can use almost anything else you want for CD storage. You can use an old shoebox if you really want to. You can also find storage boxes at craft stores that are the perfect size for CD storage. You will have to find a shelf to keep these on, but they are great if you need your storage unit to be portable. If you find that you have more CDs than what you know what to do with, you may want to find something larger for your CD storage, however, and it might be as simple as buying a larger box. Use whatever works for you and your budget.
